Q: I've submitted my film - what do I do now?

A: All films submitted into the Festival are now going through the screening process to determine the Festival's Official Selections. All entrants will be notified by the end of April of their films' status in the Festival.

Q: Do you need volunteers?

A: Yes! We will need volunteers on the day of the Festival to help sign people in, serve food and hand out information. We will also need volunteers before hand to help out with mailings, etc. Please contact us if you are interested, we would love the help. If you are 20 years old and under you may also consider being a part of the Teen Advisory Board.

Q: I teach a class or run an after school program that I think would enjoy coming to the Future Filmmakers Festival. Do I need to let you know in advance?

A: If you plan to bring a large group of students it isn't necessary that you tell us in advance, but it would be helpful. That way we can ensure that the group can sit together in the theater. It is also important to only bring students who really want to come. We want the utmost respect to be given to our winners.

Q: I can't afford the processing fee, but I really want to submit a film.

A: That's okay; we want you to submit your film too! If you can't afford the ten dollar processing fee please email or call us and you will be able to apply for financial aid. We want everyone interested to be able to submit their work.

Q: Who should I make my check out to for the submission fee?

A: Make you check or money order out to Cinema/Chicago

Q: I don't live in the United States, but I think my film would be great in your festival.

A: Unfortunately this year the festival is only for residents of the United States, but don't worry. Next year, we plan to have a festival that is international! If your film meets the two year limit then you can submit it next year. Keep checking the website for updates on next year's fest.

Q: I'm 21 years old now, but when I made my film I was only 20. Is it still okay to submit?

A: It sure is! As long as you were 20 years or younger at the time you made the film it is okay to submit.

Q: I'm under 20 years of age, but some of my cast and crew was over 20, can I still submit?

A: Sure! As long as the main filmmaker was under 20 years of age when the film was completed. If the film was a group project, it is eligible as long as the average age of the group is under 20.

Q: Will I get my submission tape back once I enter it?

A: No.  We do not send entry tapes back.  Please make sure that you are not sending your master copy, it will not be returned to you.
