The Future Filmmakers Festival celebrates the work of film and video makers from across the United States under the age of 20.
The 2007 Festival will be a jam-packed, two day event that will be held on June 29th and 30th. This event is open to the public, so whether you’re a filmmaker, educator, proud parent, or film enthusiast, we invite you to join us. Attend exciting workshops, meet in-the-know professionals, and meet talented young filmmakers from all over the United States.
The Future Filmmakers Festival is also a competition and we are looking for the best work out there! If you are under the age of 20, then we want to see what you’ve got. 100 films will be accepted into the festival, and filmmakers will be invited to join us in Chicago, IL and watch their film with an audience.
Films and Videos of any genre that were completed after March 16, 2006 can be entered into the festival. Filmmakers must be residents of the United States and must have been 20 years old or younger when they completed their project. The project length of all films and videos submitted must be 10 minutes or under. Projects that go over this limit will not be viewed, or considered for screening or competition.
There is a processing fee of $10 for each entry (please make your check or money order out to Cinema/Chicago). More than one project by an individual or group can be submitted to the festival, but a completed entry form and submission fee must accompany each entry. Multiple entries save money:
| 1 entry | s$10 |
| 2-3 entries | $15 |
| 4-6 entries | $20 |
Individual filmmakers, please make sure to fill out the individual submission entry form.
For group projects, please make sure to fill out the group submission entry form. Groups will need to identify one person as the project representative for festival communication. Please note that project representatives must be on the crew list in order to receive a filmmaking credit. Also, for group projects, you must list each member of the group and their ages. All members of the production and creative teams must have been under the age of 20 at the time of completion of the project in order to qualify for competition.
All projects must be submitted on VHS tape or on DVD for preview screening and judging. Clearly label each entry with the film title, entrant’s/group representative’s name, phone number, and an email address. Your submission will not be returned, so please do not submit an original product. If your work is selected for the festival we encourage you to substitute a higher quality format tape for screening.
